The children of
the poor and below poverty families who send their children to the govt.
schools, are deprived of the many facilities as the govt. fund for running the
school is insufficient and never reaches in time to facilitate their education.
Lack in facilities and teachers in these Govt. schools makes these poor
students lethargic and uninterested in education, therefore there is lot of dropouts from these
schools
Understanding
these needs of these poor students FOCM had started a day care centre, where
120 slum kids had availed the facilities of good teachers and reading
materials. they were given one day meal daily during this summer camp of 45 days, in summer holidays.
They had been to
one day excursion organized by FOCM.
FOCM has donated
with school bags and books needed for the children to read and write in their
school, in a valedictory meeting held and attended by B.V. Rama Rao, the Joint
Collector of the District. who gave away the gifts to the slum kids.
The school
teachers, Mr. Rajesh Masters in English Literature., Ms. Sandya, Bachelors in Education and Ms.
Vishalakshi, Bachelors in Chemistry., volunteered to teach these slum kids.
The organization appreciated this noble act by these volunteers
The children had
expressed their happiness by praising and learning bible lessons as part of
their course
